Forge World Seminar (Updated with Hi-Res photos)

Hi all.

Sorry for the delay! Battery died.

Here he is! Leman Russ, and he is pretty much finished. There has been some mentioning that Leman Russ might not come with his Wolves, you may need to buy them seperately.

The base isn't done (might be so they can tie into a diorama with Magnus).

Fimirach Noble. From the fluff.

A huge model which rivals Smaug.

Now the good bits.

Fires of Cyraxus

IA 14 or 15 (they mentioned they are dropping the numbers as it just confusing).

Tau are invading a small lesser known Forge World (not knowing most of the size is underground).

The Mechanicus deploy to defend.

With the Red Scorpions. . . The whole chapter!

The Ordinatus is deployed

The Tau use the planet as a testing zone for their new suits.

Hi all. This is COLDSHROUD!

New Barracuda (weapon load outs are very interchangable).

When you have to destroy big things!

A new Captain because . . .

. . . Culln is interred.

Ltd edition book in black.

Power Scythes upgrade.

Emperor's children upgrade.

Night Lord Chainglaives

Ultramarine Boarding Shields (more please).

A beautiful Moritat model!

Some lovely Mechanicum Knight heads.

Secutarii!

Gunnar Gunnhilt may not be in this book but may be in next.

  3. Is that the crusade list plus the various legion units?

    1. I believe it's just an updated Crusade list containing the additions to it from the intervening books, similar to how they updated the legions book.

  4. Dammit, I thought I'd finished with my Red Scorpions and was ready to move on to my Mechanicum/Mechanicus & knights force.
Ah well a couple more to add to my 15000pt+ force :)

  6. I'm curious as to how they would put Gunnar Gunnhilt in the next book. I had emailed Black library about more info on Gunnar Gunnhilt but no reply yet.

    1. Yeah. It would be when they revisit Space Wolves at a later date in the Black Books (book 9+ basically). I'd say wait until Inferno and we get to actually see it's contents at this stage.

  7. Bionic arms and maybe legs for Iron Hands legion so ALL my Iron Hands can have bionic arms.... Like arms in the tac marine pose holding bolt rifles and new underslung heavy weapons.... So expensive to buy 5 orders of the IH MKIII TAC SQUAD, 25 marines in total, just for the 10 arms that are able to hold heavy weapons. Bionic Limbs in set of 10 like the weapons!! Please!!!

    1. Well we found out the Sculptor reads our blog, so maybe he will see your requests.
Iron Hand MKIV upgrades / bionics would make sense.

  8. Also, any word on the Mastodon? They aren't showing it as a new model or upcoming release, but is shown in the new book for HH and now this IA book as Red Scorpions.. Any news?

    1. Last I heard they had to send it back to casting for new moulds as the way it was originally they had issues with it fitting together.

  9. I have seen pics of the FW Battle-Automata (namely the Thanatar) with the mention Imperial Armour - Fires of Cyraxus.

Do you have any information regarding this?

    1. Yep they will all be in the new IA book. They said you will need to buy it to find out how lol

  10. Was it confirmed that freki and geri will get models, and if so are they going to fit into his base?

    1. Hi Kyle. They will be getting models BUT they may not be with Leman Russ and instead be sold seperately (to keep the cost down of Leman). Egan was not too sure about having 3 models in one box on one big display base as it would take away from Leman (and make the cost soar). This thoughts are really reasonable after talking to him.

    2. Fair enough I think it would be cool though to have them at his side in the base. Also did we get a date for inferno?

    3. Hi Kyle. Late 2016. So expect November or December. They are still doing the artwork now (I think they said they had 3 Legionnaires and a Leviathan Dreadnought done for the Vlka Fenryka). Still murmurings about a HH Weekeneder later in the year. Hope it is true.

  13. Sorry we missed you guys! Had a blast tho and a 3vs3 bring and battle Knights fest. Picked up my Sunfury Plasma arm for Dominus Victoria Warlord so no excuse to not make more progress! WHW tomorrow!

    1. No problems Siph. Drop me a message before the next event and we can all meet up.

  14. Damn, the Red Scorpions Captain and Culln Leviathan look amazing. I'm curious about the combi-bolter pistol, though if it became a widespread weapon it would probably displace combiweapons (at least in PA models). The weapons and upgrade packs for the legions are really handy, I was actually looking for scythes the other day out of curiosity and there weren't many alternatives, same for the phoenix spears although those might be a bit easier to make from scratch or convert them from other bits.

Regarding the Porphyrion, I think I actually liked it better before, it looked kinda funny but in a good way, as a short but hard-hitting kind of knight (there's a expression in Spanish for this, not sure if there's a similar one in English), now looks imposing which isn't bad either but the other design had grown on me.

About the books, are their contents confirmed?

Lastly, thank you guys for your coverage, it is awesome to have this blog to read and see all the new things coming, as coming to these events is almost impossible for me.

    1. The Red Scorpions must not like Culln much, if they put him in a mark of Dreadnought that's prone to driving the interred insane and/or to an early death from stress.

      Delete
    2. Yup, but rule of cool demanded for him to be put in the badassest dreadnought available, and a leviathan definitely delivers. Guess madness is not that much of an issue when your body is already broken, and would probably end up happening to any occupant of a dreadnought given they survive long enough (unless you're Bjorn and you're suddenly magic), so going out in a blazing enemies-of-the-Emperor- murdering frenzy is as good as it gets for a space marine.

    3. No problems Elzender. Thanks for coming to our site. The contents are confirmed now. They were at the HH Weekender too. It is looking to be a great book. Especially as Sons of Horus are there too now ;)

  15. I still think Russ' sword looks suspiciously like Drach'nyen.

Granted, Drach'nyen looks like whatever Abaddon wants it to, so perhaps that's intentional.

  16. Lots of goood stuff there, but the Knight Porphyrion bothers me. Not because it's a bad sculpt or anything, it's actually really nice-looking, but it's way too big. I cannot imagine fileding a machine of that size alongside my household force without it sticking out like a sore thumb.
Nevermind that a knight the size of a Warhound has some weird lore issues as well.

  17. Thanks for the great coverage! Loads of amazing stuff seems to be on the way. I told myself I wouldn't do a SW Heresy army as I did them in 40k but damn, Russ looks so good it might sway it for me!
